Historical points: The Country House was originally known as Oom Tom se huis. The country house was established in the early 1800’s on the farm Klein Soebattersvlakte. During the most southern battle (Anglo boer war 1901) the stables were used as a hospital. The first ever gravel road between Riversdale and Stilbaai was built on the farm and is still in use today. The famously known store Oom Boet se Winkel was the only general dealer in the 1900’s.
