AfriCamps Boutique Glmping offers unique self-catering accommodation on the most beautiful working farms and estates in South Africa. In partnership with our landowners, AfriCamps creates unique outdoor experiences under canvas, where guests can enjoy life on a working farm, where play is unrestricted and kids can become little explorers again.
Set on one of the biggest working Ostrich farms in Southern Africa, this AfriCamps location is one to experience. (Don’t miss the authentic ostrich tour if you want to see these amazing creatures up close.) A large portion of the farm has been made available to a wide variety of free-roaming game like zebra, springbok, blue wildebeest, kudu, impala, eland, waterbuck and njala, and the popular ostrich tour is a short drive away on the same property. Among the free-roaming game you will find 12 of our luxury boutique camping tents positioned around a big water dam. *Please note that Oudtshoorn is currently experiencing its worst drought in the last 100 years. Although there is ample water for your use, the dam levels may fluctuate due to this extreme drought which can have an influence on the number of game sightings at the dam.
Located only a 10 minutes’ drive from Oudtshoorn center, in the middle of a pristine Karoo landscape with direct views on the Swartberg Mountains, AfriCamps Klein Karoo offers you the perfect backdrop to relax in the tranquil surroundings of this serene majestic game farm. Farmer Piet Schoeman is always proud to say that AfriCamps Klein Karoo is not an ostrich show farm but an authentic working ostrich farm where people can see and learn everything about this uniquely South African farming activity (Remember to book the ostrich tour) 20.000 Ostriches are kept mainly for the production and worldwide export of ostrich meat, leather, and feathers. Besides the Ostriches a big portion of the 10.000 hectare farm has been made available to a wide variety of free-roaming indigenous game. This is that part of the farm where you will find our tents and the wildlife here just forms another highlight for you to experience. Please note that our accommodations are not pet-friendly.
