Die Kliphuisies overlook the majestic Swartberg Mountains and offers guests’ farm-style living just a short drive from Oudtshoorn.Die Kliphuisies offers guests a choice of staying in one of the lovely Cottages .The Stone Cottage 1 is furnished with a double bed and two single beds. A large en-suite bathroom with shower only is shared. The kitchenette is equipped with a gas fridge-freezer, a gas stove and cutlery and crockery. Guests can relax on the private stoep which has a built-in fireplace and offers lovely views off the surrounds. It does not have electricity but solar energy provides power for the geyser and lights.The Stone Cottage 2 is furnished with a comfortable double bed and bunkbed in one large room, the second room consists of two single beds and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower only which needs to be shared with the larger main room. Braai facilities are available but please ensure to bring your own braai equipment (grid, tongs, wood etc) The Stone Cottage 2 is ideal for a group or family of five and does not have electricity, but solar energy provides power for the geyser and lights.

We really enjoyed our stay at "Kliphuisies". The view from the "stoep" was spectacular and we enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset. There was a huge area for the kids to play and they did not even notice that there was no TV or electricity - they had a lovely time and so did we. Will definitely be back.

This is a very nice little spot to explore Oudtshoorn and surrounds from. we had all three rooms to our disposal and the rooms are well furnished and equipped. the owners are very friendly and helpful. we visited the Cango Caves, adventure farm, caravan park swimming pool and we also drove to Heroldts Bay outside George to get to the beach for the kids. We will definitely go again.

Spent two days in the area and was delighted with our find in the form of Die Kliphuisies. We stayed in the smaller of the two cottages and while amenities are rudimentary, the outstanding features of our stay were the wonderful hospitality and friendliness of Hanko and others who assisted us with our needs - answering questions on surrounding attractions, flora and fauna and much more. Our Kliphuisie was clean and neat, and while initially I was concerned about the solar powered electricity (lights and warm water - we stayed in winter) - there were no issues on that score at all. Our brief stay at Die Kliphuisies during December 2015 was relaxing and a perfect getaway. The fully furnished cottage had everything we needed and more. The free ice and braaiwood at a very reasonable price delivered to you added to the convenience. The stars were amazing and the surrounding atmosphere was truly calming. I would strongly recommend Die Kliphuisies as a quick getaway.
