About Stonebreaker Country Lodge

Stonebreaker Country Lodge is located in picturesque Schoemanspoort, 15 km from Oudtshoorn on the main road to the world famous Cango Caves. The lodge is centrally located in respect of all tourist attractions such as the Cango Ostrich Farm, Cango Wildlife Ranch, Swartberg Pass and the Rust-en-Vrede Waterfall.

The lodge has an African ambience and guests are accommodated in a modern thatched chalet with 12 luxurious en-suite rooms. Privacy is ensured as the rooms are 30 m away from the main complex and has a covered porch with uninterrupted views. All rooms offer DStv, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryers, clock radios, fridges, ceiling fans and en-suite bathroom.

The thatched Lodge is fitted with modern conveniences and contains a sparkling swimming pool with unspoilt views of the surrounding mountains. A half hour walk on the registered succulent trail will work up your appetite for a traditional farm-style breakfast or dinner.

We are SATOUR accredited and a member of the Oudtshoorn Tourism Bureau. We have 4 Star grading by TGCSA and we come highly recommended by the AA.

I was VERY disappointed with this 4* facility. I dont know how they got that high grading. The room is very basically furnished, no headboards for any bed, squeaky pine single beds and the one mattress was so worn out it looked like a boat what you lie in it. The duvet covers looked old and yellowish.The bathroom was not very neat, only 1 toilet roll, we had to go and buy another one ourselves, no water to drink in the room - you dont even nlknow whether is is safe to drink out of the tap. They could at least put a can of water in the fridge, because in that heat, the tsp water is warm.Also...
