About Teniqua Treetops

We are a 3-star self-catering forest lodge, situated in 36 hectares of forest in the Garden Route, 16 km’s from the N2. We are off the beaten track and partially off the grid. The nearest town and shops are 20 min away, so be sure to stock up on groceries, we do however have a licensed bush pub (Dé Adder Padda) onsite serving drinks and refreshments only with large family pool and kiddies splash pool at the entertainment area.

No mask, No entry. All guests are required to wear a face mask when checking in or at the communal areas. Guests will be sent a link to complete the Covid 19 registration check in document. Guests temperature’s will be taken when checking in, any guest’s temperature recorded outside of the normal range (above 38˚C) will result in the deferment of the booking and the guest will be required to return home.

Each suite is a combination of tent canvas, wood, and glass. As we are an eco-friendly lodge, we are best suited to nature lovers, those wanting something a little unique, quirky, and adventurous; especially when the winds pick up and the odd thunderstorm hits.

Please be aware that you are going to be in the bush. This is not a manicured environment; it is part of the forest. We won’t, don’t, can’t fumigate the forest … so if you are someone who doesn’t have phobias about flora or fauna; trees, plants, birds, wild animals, insects, spiders, snakes, butterflies, moths, tame animals ……Teniqua Treetops is the holiday destination for you.

Family friendly: Teniqua Treetops welcomes families, we have 2 treetop suites specifically designed to be toddler friendly. There is also a communal area with a playground, sand-pit, kids pool and a fairy tree hidden in the pristine indigenous forest.

The location was very nice, unfortunately for us, it rained for the duration of our stay, so we couldn't enjoy outside very much. And they aren't kidding about spiders!!

Fantastic spot, beautiful space in the forest, ideal for getting away from it all, but with all the luxury. We loved it and the kids also enjoy the little dog walking with us to the rock pools.

A wonderful quiet weekend! Beautiful scenery, tranquility and bird life (saw Knysna Loerie’s everyday) and we fell asleep with fire-flies circling our bed. The spiders we encountered surely nested that African feeling within, luckily there is a very clever spider-catcher! We hiked down to the river on a clearly marked path! The breakfast basket was a highlight with a fully equipped kitchenette. Overall a wonderful weekend with friendly staff! Highly recommended! Thank you!
